Instrument Washing Method:
Wash all instruments with water, soap, and a brush while wearing thick gloves, ensuring that all serrations and notches are completely cleaned of blood or any contamination.
Immediately wash blood-contaminated instruments with cold water after use, as blood coagulates over time and becomes difficult to remove. Microorganisms present in the blood may also survive sterilization if not cleaned properly.
Next, immerse instruments in a disinfectant solution and place them in an ultrasonic cleaner. After that, perform manual washing again, dry them thoroughly, pack, and place them inside the autoclave.
Do not leave instruments in disinfectant for more than 10 minutes, and avoid stacking instruments on top of each other. Place heavier instruments at the bottom. To prevent corrosion, separate damaged instruments and ensure that all locks and joints are open before sterilization.
