Meisinger Chamfer Diamond Bur
Meisinger Chamfer Diamond Burs are small drill-like components that attach to a handpiece and are commonly used for cutting hard tissues such as teeth and bone. These small rotary instruments remove hard dental tissue either by cutting, scraping, or grinding. They are also used for smoothing and removing excess metal restorations such as amalgam and tooth-colored restorations like composites.
Diamond burs are made by bonding sharp, angular particles of an extremely hard material (usually diamond) to the bur head using a softer binding material. Friction Grip (FG) burs are designed for use with high-speed handpieces (turbines), while Right Angle/Latch-type (RA) burs are intended for low-speed handpieces (contra-angles). They typically have a length of 20 mm and a diameter of about 2.35 mm, with a cavity at the end that helps secure the bur to the handpiece.
